Ten months as Nordiqus

Ten months as Nordiqus: “An eventful and exciting time where we made important progress in several areas”

In November 2023, the company launched its new name, Nordiqus, to position the business a leading independent player in educational infrastructure. Since then, the company has strengthened its organization, developed its health and safety work, and carried out several projects with its customers to develop and renew facilities. CEO Jenny Rehn tells us more about the first nine months as Nordiqus.

What have the team been focused on since the launch of Nordiqus?

“A lot has happened since November. Our asset management team has spent a lot of time with our customers to see how the portfolio of assets is performing and what our customers’ requirements are. We want to be a long-term partner and an active manager of our assets. This in turn has led to us having several new renegotiated contracts and expanded partnerships.

We have spent a lot of time visiting and deepening the relationship with our customers. An important operating principle is “Health and Safety first”. Therefore we place great importance on health and safety in our assets and always take a closer look at how we can reduce or eliminate the risk of accidents in our buildings.” Our Asset Managers continue to work with the respective management teams and we are building the experience and know-how we have around our schools.

How has the work with your customers been since the launch of Nordiqus?

“It feels like we have been well received. We have worked with most of our customers for a long time and we can now devote ourselves to more focused management of the educational infrastructure segment. We have a continuous and open dialogue with our customers. Our portfolio is of good quality and in good locations, and we also have a very low turnover on our contracts. We continuously invest in our facilities and want to continuously adapt them to our customers’ needs. So far this year, we have invested just over SEK 90 million and have a total of around SEK 400 million in ongoing projects, with a total project volume of around SEK 1 billion.

For the University of Gothenburg and Region Västra Götaland, we are modernizing and adapting premises in Guldheden to accommodate more students in a new joint Health Science Centre. Work is underway on a tenant adaptation and expansion of Mosjö School in Örebro, where new, study-friendly premises are being created for the municipal school.

These are excellent examples of collaborations and are representative of Nordiqus’ approach – to be a long-term partner that effectively works with tenants to maintain the highest possible standards , as we continue to be a driving force in educational infrastructure.”

What does the Nordiqus team look like today?

“We have an extremely experienced and committed team that was involved in the launch of the business, and we have also further strengthened the team over the past nine months. At the end of the year, we will be twelve employees and here in Sweden we are located in our own Nordiqus office in central Stockholm. After the summer, Mathias Cronqvist joined as Asset Manager in Denmark and southern Sweden, and in September I am happy to be able to welcome Sini Vuoristo as Asset Manager in Finland, which will further strengthen our role in the Nordic region.”
