Opaltorget in Gothenburg – restructuring to make use of previously unused space

Need: To optimize Opaltorget’s appeal and contribute to the overall enhancement of Gothenburg city.

Opaltorget in Gothenburg is under development to become a lively, safe, and accessible area. A new district square is emerging here, including 1,100 new homes, shops, offices, preschools and schools, a medical center, a pharmacy, a family center, a new Opal church and a new park. Construction of the new Opal Park started in 2022 and is to be completed in the fall of 2023. In 2025, the last housing units at the new Opal Square are planned to be completed, as well as a preschool.
