Nordiqus has acquired the asset Mimer 1 in Borlänge, Sweden, including Dalarna University’s new campus Borlänge, from Diös. The asset is fully let on a green 15-year lease agreement with Dalarna University as the sole tenant and includes 13 3000 sqm newly developed educational facilities. The construction and refurbishment of the university was completed in 2024, and the campus has been developed with a strong environmental profile and sustainability performance – environmentally certified according to BREEAM Very Good.
“We have been keeping an eye on new campus Borlänge for a long time, and we are incredibly happy and proud to have gained the trust to become the long-term owner and manager of this state-of-the-art campus in the best possible location in Borlänge. Through this acquisition, we strengthen our portfolio of high-quality educational assets with stable cash flows generated by governmental or government-backed tenants,” says Samuel Spetz, CFO.
The agreed underlying property value amounts to SEK 706m, and closing will take place on June 30, 2025. The transaction is subject to approval by the Inspectorate of Strategic Products in Sweden (ISP).
“New campus Borlänge is a fantastic asset, including one of Sweden’s most modern campuses. With fit-for-purpose, innovative environments and several creative solutions, it offers great opportunities for hybrid education – both physical and digital. Sustainability and environmentally friendly solutions have been key priorities throughout the construction phase, and I am especially pleased to include Dalarna University in our portfolio,” says Jenny Rehn, CEO.
